Organizations we like - you may also
There are environmental organizations that cater to people in the political center and political right. They frequently have a narrow focus, either on the aspect of the environment or the demographic they work with.
We hope you stay with Move Faster and find other outlets for your activism.
Citizens’ Climate Lobby - A non-partisan organization that focuses on convincing congress to pass legislation that will stabilize the climate, primarily a carbon fee and dividend (a tax on carbon pollution with the money returned to the public via a monthly dividend). They have active outreach to political conservatives and a “conservative caucus” for members. Their emphasis on approaching everyone with “appreciation, gratitude, and respect” strongly influenced Move Faster’s values. https://citizensclimatelobby.org/
Evangelical Environmental Network - Their mission statement says, “EEN inspires, equips, educates, and mobilizes evangelical Christians to love God and others by rediscovering and reclaiming the Biblical mandate to care for creation and working toward a stable climate and a healthy, pollution-free world.“ https://creationcare.org/
RepublicEn - A right-of-center organization focused on using market forces to solve climate change via a “revenue-neutral carbon tax”. Founded by former South Carolina Republican congressman Bob, Inglis, RepublicEn uses emails, podcasts, webinars, and meetings to spread the word that there are solutions to climate change based upon conservative political principles. https://republicen.org/
co2mmit - This organization has a simple premise: the first step each of us can take to stop climate change is to make a personal commitment, a promise to ourselves, that we will decrease our greenhouse gas emissions. Their blog contains discussions by founder Jim Tolbert and others of their personal journeys - the ups and downs - to reduce their carbon footprints. https://www.co2mmit.org/
Let us know if you think we should add another organization here.
